What is engineer-to-order software?

How does 24Flow connect CAD, PLM and ERP?
It syncs the design BOM and bill of labor from your CAD or PLM system, and sends project data back to your ERP (SAP, Business Central, Finance and Supply Chain Management or Exact Online) for procurement, cost and finance. The shop floor always works from current data.
Can 24Flow handle project-based planning with a Gantt chart?

What is the difference between engineer-to-order and make-to-order?
Whether the design exists before the order. In make-to-order, the design is ready and production starts on a confirmed order. In engineer-to-order, each project is engineered first, so design, procurement and production must stay closely connected.
How do you schedule engineer-to-order production while engineering is still changing?
In two layers. A Gantt chart plans the project in phases, from engineering to installation, with dependencies and the impact on the deadline. Below it, 24Planning schedules each production order on the real capacity of your teams and machines, and the Order Pool releases work packages when the deadline and component availability allow it. When engineering changes the order, you see the effect on the deadline before you commit to a new date.
Can AI agents help plan engineer-to-order work?
